Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the more frequently asked questions we hear about developing and using Plucker software. If you have a question not answered here, please let me know

A more-detailed FAQ can be found here.

Which platform is Plucker developed upon?

Plucker was originally inspired and developed on Linux. Over the last 9 years, Plucker has been ported to many platforms, and now runs successfully on Linux, UNIX, Windows, Mac OS X, Palm, Windows Mobile and other devices based upon those platforms.

I want to write a program that will work with Plucker. Where do I start?

Assuming that you want to write your program in C/C++ (which is what Plucker was written in), you can start by downloading the required tools and getting familiar with them. These include a compiler toolchain, a debugger, an SDK, and various libraries.

Getting Started

Getting started developing with Plucker is very simple and straightforward. First, you can read the FAQ about getting started. Basically once you have downloaded the source code for Plucker and obtained the tools you will need, simply visit our developer's mailing list, read up on the current development, and dive in where you think you can contribute. Many people and companies have created solutions based upon Plucker, and you can too!
